14th Annual Bayou City Cajun Fest
April 4 & 5, 2009 at Traders Village Houston

"Hot Boudin, Cold Cous-Cous, it's Ragin' Cajun Time at Traders Village"! Get ready to party hearty, Creole-style, as the 14th Annual Bayou City Cajun Fest cooks up big fun at Traders Village for two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 4 & 5. The Cajun Fest is slated to be hotter than the boiled crawfish and hot boudin served each day.

Free live, toe-tapping Cajun and Zydeco music will be performed all weekend. Opening on Saturday at 11:00 am will be Tommy Dardar, with the Zydeco Diva, Lady D, then at 2:30 pm CajuNation, will perform its traditional-style of Cajun music. On Sunday at 11:00 am Houston’s own Cajun rock favorites, Bayou Roux, will open and the Diva returns to perform throughout the day. Then at 2:30 pm “Louisiana’s Rockin’ Fiddler” Waylon Thibodeaux will rock partiers with his high-energy Bayou City performance.

Authentic Cajun foods will be freshly prepared and served by the French Quarter Market & Grill Restaurant, featuring traditional favorites such as Crawfish Etouffee, Red Beans, Rice and Sausage, Fried Boudin Balls, Sausage Po-boys, Fried Alligator, and thousands of pounds of spicy boiled crawfish. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Houston Heritage Cajun French Music Association of Louisiana, a not-for-profit organization created to preserve Cajun culture. They will be serving Hot Gumbo and Boudin.

It's an event that can't be missed.
